Scrap Around The World December 2015 Mood Board Challenge

Sadly, this is the final Mood Board Challenge for Scrap Around The World. The challenge site has played a huge part in my creative development and I will be sad to see it go,- all the best Helen. xxx

On a happier note More Than Words Challenge site has been born and I'm looking forward to joining these ladies in my future creative efforts.
Here is the Mood Board

I was immeadiately inspired by the macaroons- my mind went straight to a photo I had taken of the window of the Hopetoun Tea Rooms in Melbourne Australia.

I was also inspired by the varying pink  and lilac shades, the flowers and the gold crusting on the rim of the glasses.
The champagne glasses themselves also reminded me of celebrations, and that combined  with the macaroons lead me to  the theme of High Tea!

In Australia a high tea is a special occasion where people get together and share hot tea, ( some prefer coffee or wine/champagne) and a selection of cakes, sandwiches and savories. It is usually an occasion much enjoyed by all!!
On my page I included a hidden tag where I wrote about my experience at the Hopetoun Tea Rooms and yes I did have a cake!!

It certainly is Vibrant!!

I used Prima Royal Menagerie Paper, strips of Prima resist canvas, white flowers and lace.
I  then stencilled Prima Stencil" Rose" on the background before spraying with Lindy's Stamp Gang Ink
-Flat Fabio " Popping Pink", Starburst " Hi Maintainence Magenta"
and Flat Fabio "urban Amethyst".

Then I thought it needed some stamping so here and there I stamped my prima "dirty walls" and "Garden Fable" stamps with Archival Jet Black and Magenta Hue.

Thinking it still  needed something else  I sprayed it again with Heida SWapp Color Shine "Gold" and was quite pleased with the result!!

I bought the tea cup die a number of years ago, before I knew the importance of remembering what brand!!

Kaisercraft Alphabet die, and "All that Glitters" collection paper provided the finishing touches.

Hope you like it!! :) :) :)

Scrapping Clearly Mood Board December 2015 challenge

http://scrapping-clearly.blogspot.com.au/

I had the ideal photo just waiting for this mood board !!

A number of years ago now,Vicki  was unable to fight off breast cancer and died at 42 years of age. Vicki was  very close to our family and it was a tough time.
For the last few years before we lost her we went to her place for Christmas lunches and great fun was had by all.

The papers I used were from "My Mind's Eye " - Vintage Christmas (2013 - I have had it a few years!)

The flowers,(dusty attic/Green Tara), the lace and the Heidi Swapp Alphabet letters were all colored by spraying with my Ayeeda ink -"Sky Blue". (alphabet letters were part of my october moodboard winner prize - thanks Kylie)

I think I'll put this in a frame and bring it out with my Christmas Decorations from now on.

Off The Rails Scrapbooking December 2015 Mood Board challenge

Just loved the colors in this mood board!!

I had fun with this, even though the colors didn't come out quite the way I thought they would!!!
I used Green Tara and Dusty Attic white flowers, which I sprayed with 13 Arts Ayeeda Inks- Sky Blue.
The sequins dotted about are Prima , I also used pink bazzil and Kaisercraft Silver Bells Collection "Baubles"pink side as a base.

I used my Finnabair Elementals Stencil " Lace" with Faber Kastell Whipped Spackle.( for the life of me I can't not be heavy handed with texture pastes! ! I have tried with metal spatula and old credit cards!- any suggestions welcomed!!)

I sprayed it then with Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stains Chipped Sapphire and Broken China.
I think the thickers are American Crafts but the label has long gone!!
the tickets were part of a kit I bought from Piece of Cake Designs (last year I think!) .such a pity Raquel had to close up.
I think that is everything.
My kids are now 17 and 21 and much harder to buy for at Christmas!!

Scrapping Clearly November Sketch Challenge 2015

I used techniques I learned recently at a class held locally by the very talented and creative Finnabair!
I can't say the results are on a par with this wonderful lady's but I had fun!!

http://scrapping-clearly.blogspot.com.au/p/current-challenge.html

It started out following this sketch and then took on a life of it's own!

It is just by sheer chance that this could qualify for the mood board challenge as well, given the colors I used!!
I titled it "believe" because Sarah is a great believer in the power of positive thought!

Scrap Around The World November mood board challenge 2015

As usual a very inspiring mood board from Scrap Around The World.
http://scraparoundtheworld.blogspot.com.au/search/label/Mood%20Board%20Reveal
I loved the Christmas theme.

I used the wood grain, white wash effect for the base page, with a touch of black running through it. The colors used are all from the mood board.

The Christmas tree inspired the embellishments used.

The soup mug, heavy warm mittens and ribbed sweater made me think of a white Christmas. For this reason I used my new Prima Snowflake Paste and stencilled  the base(Prima Harlequin ).
I also embossed the reindeer ( Scrap Matts)and the word Christmas( Kazzazz) with Stamp -It embossing powder "Seafoam White".

The sprays I used were ;
Lindy's Stamp Gang Sassy Sapphire and Sidewalk Chalk. I also used Heidi Swapp Color Shine Gold.

The fussy cut poinsettias and the papers used were from Kaisercraft "Home For Christmas" Collection.

I thought my photo of a summer Father Christmas was a contrast to the winter theme! As you can tell by my kid's clothes it wasn't cold!!

I was also taken by the expression on my daughter's face....she was clearly excited about Christmas, no doubt still believing in the reality of Father Christmas whereas my son looks as if he is well aware it it is all
a charade!!

Here are some close ups!

hope you don't mind all the pictures but I am so happy with how it all came together!!

Scrap Around The World 2015 October Moodboard Challenge Entry 2!!

I was also inspired by the vivid  colors of Heather's mood board ,and the exotic bird when I created this page.

I used Strathmore 12x 12 Watercolor paper.

I used my Lyra Aquacolor water soluble crayons to make the background, and also on the paper  to cut my dies from.
I then stamped with my Kaisercraft triangles clear stamp and also my Penny Black Slapstick /Cling hearts stamp, using Ranger  Archival inks.
The flowers and leaves are new from Kazzazz,(thanks Zena Melville) and I colored them  with the crayons, the leaves I colored but did not add water.
The Awesome  Arrow is from Scrapmatts and I left that raw.
The butterflies and dragon flies were Kazzazz dies, and I'm not sure which company made the bird of paradise die, or the ornate hearts.

This photo was taken on an AWESOME occasion!!
My daughter and I had just completed a Short Course Triathlon ( 350 metres ocean swim, 7 k bike ride and 5k run/walk!)and we were pretty please with ourselves!!!

Scrap the Girls October Moodboard (2015)

                                            http://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.com.au/

I was inspired by the bright colors, the pinks and blues, the feathers(seen on  my birds of paradise),  the word awesome, and the butterflies.
I used  12 x 12 Strathmore watercolor paper.

Scrap Around The World October Moodboard Challenge(2015)

This wonderfully colorful mood board was put together by the very talented Heather McMahon. I was inspired by the vividness of the colors and by the tree.
The theme of thankfulness also inspired me as I feel very blessed to have two beautiful children( now young persons!) in my life.

I can see now that the purple frame is not quite straight, but hey nothing on a tree is straight either!! LOL

I  flicked  Lindy's Stamp Gang Prima Donna Purple across the 12x12 bazzil page to start with, along with some Starburst Bling-y-Blonde.
I downloaded a shape of a tree and cut it out from Kraft-tex paper which I had already colored with Lindy's Stamp gang  starburst Sassy Sapphire.
I went to sew it with my sewing machine and found the connection between the foot and the machine wasn't happening so had to sew it by hand!!
The flowers are from Green Tara and Kaisercraft.
I strung the crystal beads and tucked the strands behind the photos,(thanks to my sister for giving them to me after a beading passion!)
I also  used a Heidi Swapp tree Stencil and Faber-Kastell Whipped Spackle colored with the Sassy Sapphire spray.
I embossed the picture frame, Scrapmatts string circles, the Dusty Attic word" blessed"  and the flying bird with Lindy's Stamp gang Drop Dead Diva set -Purple, along with the wooden owl and butterfly.

The leaves on the stenciled tree on the left were colored with the purple spray and are from Kazzazz.
There are also a couple of hat pins I made with bright pretend pearls threaded onto them!!
The life button was given to me at one stage as was the butterfly die.
Hope you like it!

Scrapping Clearly Sketch challenge October 2015

I really liked this sketch!

I am really blessed to have such a beautiful daughter.
The papers I used were from Inkadoo.  I had actually bought them quite a few years ago. and had put them away for a rainy day!  They were a lovely find!!
