life on the ocean wave. i tried to recreate the beautiful colors of the ocean when we were at the Cocos Keeling Islands on one of our annual holidays with acrylic ink and a gelli plate. I added the stamp that reminded me of the island's palm trees. It didn't look finished so I embossed a few frangipanis(tropical flower). I wrecked the one at the top so I covered it up with a tag from Amy Tangerine that seemed appropriate!!

scrapping Clearly June sketch challenge

I had this sketch in mind when I put this sketch in mind when I put together this page. It is not quite the same as I have used multiple photos but I did like the way the features are grouped around the  photo.

I also entered it into the Scrap Around the World Challenge for June as I used the colours  of their June mood board

Scrap Around The World June 2015Challenge

Scrap Around The World June mood board - my entry June 2015
I was inspired by the pink and coral colors and also by the quote about happiness. My children come to my mind first when I think about happiness.

I used the Bo Bunny Madeleine Range of papers and embellishments, (I love the colours in this range) with a few Kaisercraft stick on bling dots. I know one should stick to numbers of 3 or 5 but when I popped the 4th photo of my daughter in the Bo Bunny frame in as well the page just seemed to look right.  I'm really happy with this page. I started off following an idea from a tutorial on Scrap Around the World where there was lots of layering. As you can see I didn't get past two layers before I went off on a different tangent!

Stamps and Stencils June challenge Small is beautiful
The challenge was to create, or alter something small using at least one stencil and one stamp.
I combined this with my Tag tuesday challenge which was to create a tag using the theme "arrows." I played aroud on a piece of white card experimenting with some Ayeeda inks that I bought from the 13arts on line store in Poland. I dropped spots of ink onto the page and spritzed them with water. You can get really vivid colors with a little water and lovely soft colors if you use a lot of water. So I covered the tag  with paper from  the softer water wash effect side of the paper. I then grabbed a stencil I like,(from 13arts as well) mixed Ayeeda pink ink with what I thought was texture paste. It was actually white gesso when I looked again at the tub!!
I thought " don"t want to waste this ink" so scraped the gesso over the stencil to see what sort of effect I got. Of course the gesso ran under the stencil as well and I ended up with  rather a lumpy and indecisive  effect. However I did use a stencil!!
Next I stamped from My Darkroom Door collection using pink Archival ink. I love this set (Stamper )
My arrows were die cut (in'spire by Spellbinders)from the bright louder part of the inked page.  It was a challenge to stick then on but zig glue stick on my fingers and onto the inside of the arrows worked well.
Last task -find a ribbon that matches!
I must say I had great fun putting this together and I must thank Rikki Grazianni (justtoobsessed blogspot) for introducing me to the ayeeda inks! I'll be investing in more I think!!!
