My mind went straight to my Blue Fern Studios Papers where I knew I had saved a hot air balloon for an occasion such as this! I was also inspired by the colors.

I was inspired by a class I had done taught by the talented Natalie May, where we used black embossing powder and Dylusions inks. I think they turned out pretty well!

More Than Words Blogspot April 2016 Challenge

I tried something different this month.
I did an art journal spread taking inspiration from the vibrant colors, the flowers, the white frosting on the tree and the black of the trunk.
My ESCAPE is listening to music, while I'm listening I sing along in my mind and I'm solely focussed on the music and it is so relaxing.

I stencilled the guitar with a Prima Stencil and Faber-Castell Whipped Spackle.
When dry I played around with my Dylusions Sprays Pure Sunshine, Postbox Red and London Blue.
When that was dry I used another Prima stencil , flowers this time and The Prima Finnabair Snowflake Paste.
That didn't work so well, as the flowers got a bit lost so I painted over them with the Dylusions spray White Linen.
Also flicked this spray about a bit.
The sheet music stamps are from Heidi Swapp and I used Jet Black Ranger Archival Ink.
I painted over the top of the guitar with the London blue, then drew a few treble clefs about!
I then Used Tim Holtz Distress crayon black to draw more treble clefs, crochets etc, sharp signs and the left hand staves( not sure if that is the right word??).
The freehand drawing is not my strong point but hey the little girl in me loved it!!

More Than Words March scrapbooking Challenge 2016
Great theme this month!
http://morethanwordschallenge.blogspot.com.au/
When I was looking for the right photo I couldn't go past this one!! My son and I had a rocky start and both he and I were in a state of Bliss when this was taken!!
I must be clear however, I did enjoy most of the time he was awake immensely!!
(And still do 21 years later!!)

(And still do 21 years later!!)
I started with black gesso through a "The Crafter'sWorkshop" stencil - ( a technique I learned from Rikki Grazziani - thank you Rikki)).
Then I sprayed with Dylusions Sprays
Crushed Grape,
London Blue
and Vibrant Turquoise.
Also splattered them about!
I stamped a few hearts about with archival black ink... thought they were too stark so I filled them in with white gesso!!
The chipboard circles are from Scrapmatts and I painted them with white gesso, as I did the Kassazz chipboard letters. Once dry I dabbed Finnabair's Snowflake Paste about them to give them a zing!
The Prima Metallics and the Prima wood veneers were all coated with clear gesso before being colored with the dylusion inks, as were the flowers.
I added Prima glass beads to the flowers, again for some added zing!
I'm very excited about being invited onto the Creative Team for Hobbysew Echuca! Keep an eye out for my upcoming creations!!
