Scrap Around The World April Moodboard Challenge
Hi all I decided to decorate the cover of my new art journal for the ScrapAroundTheWorld April Moodboard Challenge. I loved the colours in the mood board and I also love the beach and ocean. The inspirational section of the mood board made me think of using the art journal to keep my fingers busy when I would otherwise be eating when and what I shouldn't!! Let's hope it works!
Below is the mood board for ScrapAroundTheWorld April

and here is my creation
I covered the journal with Gesso, then sprayed it with delusional inks. However I didn't like the result so I painted it over with gesso again, and then painted it with heavy body acrylic paint. Then I applied soft moulding paste over a damask stencil. I went away thinking how was I going to colour this but I must have not waited till the paint was completely dry as when I came back the paste had taken up the colour underneath!! I quite like this result! The seagulls are a dusty Attic product and I covered them with gesso and then white embossing. The flowers are Green Tara( I'm pretty sure of that) and on the journal tag tucked in the left hand side I wrote
"This is sunset over the beach in the Cocos Keeling Islands, West Island. A great place for a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday - if you like swimming and snorkelling. Beautiful.Beautiful place!!"
In my next post I am going to add some close ups!!

feb challenge scraparound the world
Hi all, here is the mood board for February from the Scrap Around the World challenge site

the mood board was put together by Tatiana Sidorenka and it is really interesting. I was inspired by the long haired lady, thinking straight away of my gorgeous daughter( 16years) who also has long hair, the beach scene inspired me to use the photo of my daughter sitting on the beach...even has the sand on her toes!!
The wording also inspired me to think of my daughter as she has developed a very positive mindset and would definately have room in her heart for the unimaginable! Lastly green is a color I do not often work with so I found it inspiring to try something different to my usual choice of colors.

SCrap Around The World September Challenge entry
Hi all,
here is my entry for the Scrap Around the World September Mood board Challenge.
I was inspired by the fairy, the pink in the binoculars and the heart shape in which the gears are stored. The picture of the books inspired me to rip out some pages from a worn out dusty old paperback(I 'd already read the book!) and collage them onto the background. I had in my mind to create a fairy dell...I like how it turned out!
I had lots of fun with Prima Color Bloom Mist, light moulding paste, stencils and pan pastels. The paper was from Kaisercrafts Enchanted Garden Series, dusty attic chipboard and resin flowers from Mel B were also in the mix!.
Getting the photo to reflect it's true colors and look was the next big challenge! I'm really happy with this page so wish me luck!
Now to add my page! the writing says "You are the closest will ever come to Magic"
