Scrap the Girls May Challenge

Mother's Day this month so the challenge is about mothers with a gorgeous mood board to use for
inspiration

http://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.com.au/

Rule #1.  The lady featured must be a Mother of some sort. It can be your mum, step-mum, adoptive mum, your husbands mum, your friend, your cousins friends sister or even you.  You can be an actual mum to a human child, a mum to a fur baby, a reptile baby or any other baby you have.  You can interpret the criteria how you like.  Remember the definition of a mother as described in the Urban Dictionary (this was my favourite definition): "The woman who loves you unconditionally from birth, the one who puts her kids before herself and the one who you can always count on above everyone else. Just telling her your problems makes you feel better because mom's always know how to make it all go away. Even if you fight, know that she's just looking out for your best interests."

Rule #2: No boys in the photos.

I was inspired by the stick figures which made me think mixed media, the mother daughter

moments in the mood board along with the blue square.

First I  applied  texture paste through a scrap matts stencil onto a 12"x 12"  watercolor

base page.

Then when it was dry I had a lovely time playing with  Tinby Designs Color Crush  powders and

water.

The flowers were 49&Market and the thank you was from a Kaisercraft die.

the thank you is an expression of gratitude as I had had quite a bit of difficulty and heart ache

before my daughter was born

Would love to see how you interpret the mood  board!

(sympathies to those whose mother may not be with them now, it must be so hard)

Scrap The Girls April Moodboard

How the year is rolling on!!
Time for a new challenge at Scrap The Girls.
Yummy Mood board this month

                                       "Sea Glass"

I was inspired by those colors! They are so gorgeous together!
I thought this photo of my daughter thoroughly enjoying her bubble bath would fit beautifully with these colors

These lovely chipboard hearts are from the Dusty Attic Heart attack panel. I painted them with white gesso and when dry dabbed on Colour Blast color paste"Singing the Blues"

When they were dry I painted them with Dustty Attic Gloss Varnish Clear- I think this really makes them shine!

The dots are Doodlebug Designs Sprinkles - Swimming Pool.

The papers are from the Kaisercraft Fairy Dust Collection-Sparkly, Pixie and Fairy Dust.

The wordlet, treated the same way as the hearts is from 2Crafty

The stencil I used is from The Crafter's Workshop "Mini The Story"- isn't it just gorgous!!

I think I'll be using it a lot!!  This time I used Colour Blast Color Paste "Apple Of My Eye"

I love how these flowers nestled together so well!

The large one is from Manor house-Sparkly Flower

the 4 petal flowers are from Green Tara, with the Doodlebug Designs Sprinkles in the centre.

The blue flower was from a collection I had bought at Made With Memories(Rockingham)

I tucked in a few more blue hearts and a seam binding bow,

then dotted the sprinkles sparingly about the page

Looking forward to seeing your interpretation of the Mood Board this month!

You can take inspiration from one or more of the photos, or just the colors as I did.

Pop on over to the ScrapThe Girls Blog and check it out!

I chopped up two pairs of denim shorts( thanks St Vinnies!) to make the flowers.
I embroidered the edges of the flowers with some gorgeous embroidery thread I had bought months ago waiting for the right page!- Cottage Garden Threads 2102 Gerbera
The papers and ephemera etc are from the lovely Cocoa Vanilla Studios Make a Wish Collection.
I am pretty pleased with how it all came together!

shopancrop february blog challenge 2017

the challenge for shopancrop this month was a Tic Tac Toe
http://shopancrop.blogspot.com.au/p/current-challenge.html

I chose to work with Pattern Paper, Sequins and Wood Veneer.
All the product I used was from Cocoa Vanilla Studios  Make a Wish Collection and the base page was from Kaisercraft Weave Collection Bubblegum.
I based the sketch around one from a Scrapbook and Cards Today Calendar 2013, though by the time I finished it had changed somewhat!

thanks for looking:)

Kaisercraft February blog Challenge 2017

http://www.kaisercraft.com.au/blog/february-blog-challenge/

The challenge was to create a card using the following moodboard, and majority Kaisercraft products

I made a twist and pop card guided by the very clear and understandable video recently released by Design Team member Collette Mitrega.
Thanks Collette, I think I will be making more of these!!

I used the Kaisercraft Island Escape Collection, and Collectables, with a few doodlebug Designs Sprinkles.
