Scrap The Girls January 2018

'I got the Blues'

These photos are from a great day at the Beach at Jurien Bay a number of years ago now. That little doggie was my sister's West Highland Terrier. My sister came up and booked a holiday home there as well and we all had a great time!

I was inspired by the guitar in that my background stencilling is sheet music!!
Of course the different shades of blue were quite inspiring and among my favourite colours too!!
The word phrase "make your life a story worth telling" is reflected in the photos I think because they show Sarah was not afraid to tackle anything !!

To make the mixed media  background I was inspired by a video tutorial released recently by the artist Kim Price.

My page has turned out quite differently as I have used Tim Holtz Dioxide inks rather than paints.
I painted a 12 x 12 cardboard with white Gesso, then stencilled with moulding paste and then when dry rubbed the page through the wet oxide ink on my non stick craft mat.  I found it didn't give such a good coverage so I used my pipette and more water ,  sucked the colour up and dropped it where I wanted  and dried with my heat gun. Kim's original design doing this using paint  was clearly the better option!!
However it turned out quite nicely!!
