Dusty Attic February 16 Moodboard challenge

gorgeous Mood Board this month

http://dustyatticblog.blogspot.com.au/

I was inspired by the teddy bear and the wood grain and that gorgeous blue/grey

I reversed a canvas and painted it with heavy white gesso, before painting it with prima mica powder "Frozen Lake".
I also mixed it with texture paste and dabbed it onto the chipboard pieces. The flowers were white, and I treated the flowers in the same way and dabbed in onto the white teddy  bears too.
I also stencilled 3D medium in the background , and along the sides with a brick layering stencil from Tim  Holtz.
I  bought the teddy bears at Paperific last year and have been waiting for the right occasion to use them!
The flowers are fabric and were bought at Paperific too.(www.uniquestitching.com.au)

Scrapping Clearly February Mood Board Challenge

I was inspired by the blues and green, the butterflies and the mosaic patterns
http://scrapping-clearly.blogspot.com.au/

Voila!!

I used Tim Holtz Distress inks over a Kaisercraft stencil and chopped the paper into strips.

I used watercolor pencils to color some big buterflies, but they didn"t look right so I chopped them into little ones with my Stampin Up punch. I decorated the butterflies with Prima glass beads.

The title I colored in with watercolor pencils from the negative chipboard ( the actual word long used)

I am pretty pleased with how this page has turned out!!!

cheers

More Than Words February Challenge, and stuckSketchs feb challenge

More Than Words Blogspot  February Challenge
http://morethanwordschallenge.blogspot.ca/2016/02/february-2016-main-challenge-wonderful.html

I thought about the word "wonderful" and thought nothing can be more wonderful than the joy of being blessed with my two beautiful children.

I thought about the theme " Sparkle" and I went straight to my Kaisercraft " All that Glitters" Paper Collection- it even had the word wonderful in it!!

Thinking about how to put it all together I found the sketch at StuckSketches blogspot February challenge ideal!

and my creation

The flowers are Prima, the chipboard Scrapmatts and the vellum Maggie Holmes.

Aren"t my kids just gorgeous!!:):):)

The Mixed Media Creative Gym Challenge no.16 New Beginnings

this is my first entry into the Mixed Media Place Blog Creative Gym Challenges
http://mixedmediaplace.blogspot.ie/2016/01/creative-gym-16-dt-call.html
I think it qualifies for the "New Beginnings theme for this reason, and also because my Mixed Media efforts are usually 12 x12 scrapbooking pages!!

I was inspired by a video by Marta Lapkowski of a canvas she created called "Just Breathe".
Thanks Marta for sharing how to go about it!!

I started with white gesso,

then Faber Kastell Whipped Spackle and a Crafter's Workshop stencil (the circles)'

Then I used water and Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals- Sassy Sapphire, and drop dead gorgeous green with just a touch of Blingy Blonde.

As I didn't think I had enough coverage I sprayed it again with Lindy's Starburst sprays- Sassy Sapphire and Drop Dead Gorgeous Green.

When dry I mixed some starburst spray Prima Donna Purple with some more Whipped Spackle and used Prima , Finnabair Rose stencil.

I then layered some ripped book pages and stuck them on with Prima Gel Medium before flicking the starburst sprays about!

The stamps are "Industrial lights" -Limor Weber and Indigo Blue
and also mixed media stamp by Pam Carriker( Zig Zag Designs, ww.stampington.com).

I also painted white gesso on the stamps to add highlights.

I think the black thickers are from American Crafts.

Finally I  chopped up a Kasazz chevron stencil and stuck them about for added pzazz!!

Hope you like it!!

Stamps and Stencils January 2016 challenge-oh so Blue

The brief was to create a mostly blue Mixed Media project using some stamping/or/and stenciling.
http://stampsandstencils.blogspot.co.uk/2016/01/oh-so-blue.html

I like how this card turned out.

I have used the Prima rose stencil, with Faber-Kastell Whipped Spackle. I sprayed with Tim Holtz Distress spray stains.
The tag was painted with heavy white gesso. I then mixed Prima's 3Dmatte Gel with Prima mica powder( Frozen Lake) and scraped it over the tag.
The stamp is from Kaisercraft and the flowers Green Tara, and Dusty attic(?).
The arrow is Dusty Attic chipboard and it has been painted with white gesso.

Not sure if I have overdone the white but there is still a lot of blue!
good luck all:)

More Than Words mini Challenge

the mini challenge for january 2016 was to create with a card, tag or ATC with the word "Be"
I was a bit stumped at first but came up with 2 cards, a traditional one

The above card was made from some Prima Paper that had come with a magazine quite a while ago and which I had stashed away. The Be Glad motif was from Kaisercraft Collectables, again from some years ago.
I did two cards because I was in two minds about which way to go!!

I used Prima Rose stencil and Faber-Kastell Whipped Spackle
When dry I sprayed with Tim Holtz Distress Spray stains.
The tag I had painted with heavy  white gesso.
Then I colored some Prima 3D matte gel with prima mica powder and scraped it on the tag'
The stamp is Kaisercraft, and the ink Ranger Archival "Manganese Blue"
quite happy with how they turned out
